Warm Gun is a futuristic wild west first person shooter being developed by Emotional Robots and will be available for PC, iOS, and Tegra devices.
This spun western lets you take control of 6 original characters; choose from weapons new and strange and a wider range of modern contraptions with primitive power. Classic and innovative, undoubtedly original, every FPS player will find happiness with Warm Gun.
Emotional Robots has built Warm Gun around a specific keyword: innovation. Warm Gun's blend of traditional and innovative gameplay elements and level design will peak the interest of both casual and hardcore players. Built using the award-winning Unreal Engine technology, Warm Gun features high-quality art and unique gameplay that puts a fresh spin on the first person shooter (FPS) genre.
A small subset of my many, many roles on the project include:
• Wrote the vast majority of all Warm Gun code and architect for all design implementations
• Created archetype systems for players, weapons, UI and others for rapid design iteration
• Responsible for implementation of standard 2D mobile UI and 3D Scaleform UI for PC
• Clean and efficient code on all fronts optimized for running on PC, iOS and Tegra
• Coordinated with the entire team to streamline the production pipeline and ensure efficient asset creation and implementation into the Unreal Engine
• Migration from the Unreal Development Kit to the Unreal Engine
• Deployment of Warm Gun to PC, iOS and Tegra platforms
Jump or Die is a very simple game in which you play as a blue box and your goal is to simply not die and to avoid any and all obstacles in front of you by jumping. It features a very simple control mechanic in that all you do is tap the screen to jump or tap and hold to jump further along with a user interface that anyone can just jump right into to start playing. I created this game in my spare time with the Unreal Development Kit as I happened to be doing a lot of UnrealScript at the time and wanted to publish a fairly simple game just because. It was released on the iTunes App Store on July 25, 2011 and is available for purchase here: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/jump-or-die/id449394637?mt=8
StuffIt is an arena based shooter for iOS and PC which puts you in the role of a sadistic boy who has been taken hostage by the stuffed animals he has abused throughout his childhood. You must defend yourself against these vengeful playthings in horde based weaponized action. I founded this project and am doing all the programming for it within Epic's Unreal Development Kit, as well as leading the development team consisting of skilled individuals in their respective fields. More information can be found on our IndieDB page here.
Collapse StuffItPlastic Warfare started out as a school project but quickly became an attempt at a 3 month rapid prototype of a first person tactical shooter based on airsoft guns. Being built with the Unreal Engine, I wrote all of the UnrealScript code involved for the project along with created the python backend for server browsing and the C++ DLLBindings for scanning the local area network for servers as well as stats reporting using low-level UDP sockets. I also designed and implemented the entire UI using Scaleform and Adobe Flash, which resulted in me being picked up at an indie team as a Gameplay/UI Programmer. On this project I managed a team of 20 people with various talents and skill as well as programmed everything. We ended up submitting our prototype to the Indie Game Challenge. You can view our 60 second pitch video here.
StuffIt: Playroom was initially just a prototype for testing how well the Unreal Development Kit handles ragdoll physics on mobile iOS platforms. After some small UI adjustments, I decided to publish it on to the App Store in order to learn about the Apple review and selling process as well as getting my arena shooter StuffIt off the ground. Using basic ragdoll physics, you can pick up and fling StuffIt characters around and change gravity by rotating the device. You can download it along with the other 6,000 downloaders for free for your iOS device here.
